Church Safety Meeting TOMMORROW @3:30 @ the church
Your church leadership is considering the expansion of the commons area into the nursery and adding a new nursery and youth rooms beyond that to the east as an extension to the back of our building. Please view the drawings and give us your thoughts.
Please keep in mind and prayer the efforts of the WMCAH to get our site built in Show Low. Currently, the property is being engineered, validation is being documented for the work done, an excavator is ready to set electrical conduit, and APS is committed to pull wire and set transformers. Most all of this work is volunteer. So, give a praise, and lend a prayer and a hand as you will.
JOIN US IN PRAYING FOR REVIVAL. WE'RE PRAYING THAT GOD WILL MOVE ON THIS MOUNTAIN TO CONVICT AND DRAW PEOPLE TO HIM. THAT OUR CHURCHES WILL BE FULL, AND THAT MANY WILL COME TO SAVING FAITH IN CHRIST. WE KNOW, BY HIS WORD, THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL CONVICT THE WORLD OF SIN, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND JUDGMENT..." (JOHN 16.8). WE CAN ADD THE PRAYER PUSH TO GET IT GOING.
We've purchased the property directly across the street of our church. It's 1.62 acres, and in the immediate future it will be used for parking. It's in escrow now, and the contract requirements are met. When escrow closes, we'll have a "brushing party" and clear the land. Keep praying that we hear the Lord's direction as we move ahead.
Resurrection
Easter. The resurrection. We're all familiar with it, but perhaps we're too familiar? Having served as pastor to many dying and dead people, and having worked for Show Low Fire as an firefighter / EMT, I can say that death is real and resurrection from the dead is highly unlikely. Knowing this in our natural state, we can easily discount an actual, bodily resurrection, and start believing in an imagined one.
They did not imagine that Jesus was resurrected in the body. They experienced Him after His crucifixion and His burial, in the flesh. Jesus said to them: "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit ("ghost" in old KJV) does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have" (Luke 24.39). They knew that the tomb was empty, and the angel confirmed it: "He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said..." (Matt.28.6).
Jesus' words to Martha challenge us: "Do you believe this" (John 11.26)? That's where it stands. We cannot put our hands into the crucifixion wounds of Jesus' body, but we can trust the Word of God, given to us in the witness of those who experienced our resurrected Lord.
Jesus reminds us through the doubting of Thomas, and then that disciples' assurance, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see (20 centuries of believers), and yet believed" (John 21.29).
What do you take for granted and believe? How about gravity? Can you see it, or handle it, or do you even know what it is? No, you don't, but you see its effect, and so you believe in it. It's the same with the resurrection. "The power of Jesus' resurrection" is clearly seen in the millions of changed lives, who came to saving faith in Christ.
"What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life...we proclaim to you also..."
(1 John 1.1-4).
