Growth Progress

The parking lot grading and surfacing is complete and "It is okay" to park on the lower parking lot as work continues. If all goes well with our church plan approval, we will submit the engineered copies to the county and once approved can get prices and bids for materials for this project. And then we will have a total cost ASAP. The church meeting to move forward is next Sunday August 21, 2022 right after church at which time we will discuss the proposal.

Tour to Big Lake Is Over!

Um, so I hear that umbrellas were a must. You were tougher people than I, Charlie Browns (yes, Karen and Roger). I hear that the food and the company were incredible!! If Jerry S. was cooking, you can bet on it!! And who could have done without Fred Parry’s humor?.... (Cathy)! I didn’t hear of any FISHING or swimming stories. Doug Henry makes for a great Camp Host, doesn’t he? Glad you all made it back! (Did you do a head count?)

Tent Revival

The annual Tent Revival meeting will be held in Vernon at the JESUS sign on State Highway 60 this coming August 21 - 28. It is a cooperative effort of several local churches.

Church Membership

We've been asked how one becomes a member of NHCF. There's one basic requirement: that you've received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Jesus said, "...You must be born again" (John 3.7). The new birth is from above, and it is a spiritual recreation. "Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come" (2 Cor.5.17). Being "born again" and being a regular attender at NHCF makes you a member of this body.

Which Way America?

We are at a historical crossroad: economically, socially, personally and spiritually. Our nation seems to be falling apart, perhaps even on the brink of collapse. Are we like Israel of 3,300 years ago? The Bible says: “In those days Israel had no king, so everyone did as he saw fit.” They had become self-centered and self-directed, far away from God’s protection and direction.

Do we resemble the Israelites of 2,600 years ago when the prophet Jeremiah warned them with these words from God: “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” But they said, ‘We will not walk in it!’ Therefore, observe what will happen to them...I am bringing disaster upon these people because they have not listened to my words and rejected my laws.” (Jer. 6:16-19)

Shortly thereafter they saw Jerusalem and their temple demolished and the people killed or taken captive by the Babylonians.

Is America on the same path? “God cannot be mocked.” (Gal. 6:7) “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.” (James 4:8) Time may be short: God is in control, so trust in Him & His Word.
