The parking lot grading and surfacing is complete and "It is okay" to park on the lower parking lot as work continues. If all goes well with our church plan approval, we will submit the engineered copies to the county and once approved can get prices and bids for materials for this project. And then we will have a total cost ASAP. The church meeting to move forward is Today right after church at which time we will discuss the proposal.
Just a reminder about the times of our visitation slots. They are on Saturdays from 9 - 11am and 1 - 4 pm On Tuesdays, the time is from 1-4 pm. We could still use some volunteers. Applications are on the front table. Be disciples. They need you.
The annual Tent Revival meeting will be held in Vernon at the JESUS sign on State Highway 60 It starts TONIGHT! And finishes up NEXT SUNDAY! It is a cooperative effort of several local churches. See God at work!
Church Membership
We've been asked how one becomes a member of NHCF. There's one basic requirement: that you've received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
Jesus said, "...You must be born again" (John 3.7). The new birth is from above, and it is a spiritual recreation. "Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come" (2 Cor.5.17). Being "born again" and being a regular attender at NHCF makes you a member of this body.
"DENYING SELF"
Jesus says to deny yourself and take up your cross and follow Him. Deny yourself, daily (Luke 9:23), of all things that bring separation from God, family, church, His kingdom. Denying self from our sins and addictions from drugs, alcohol, porn, computers, work, etc., that is to say anything and everything that keeps us from God. Deny self, confess Christ. (Matt 10:32-34)
So, Jesus bore the weight of the cross, in total obedience and willingly. Jesus set the example, to go to the Father he had to bear the cross. He willingly did this, but needed help from the Father physically. Because of the scourging and the beatings and loss of His blood, He could not carry it without help. So, God, put it in the mind of man to help Him (Matt 27:32), how much more would the Father help you if you ask (John 14:14). The burden of the cross was heavy but as He may have had doubt when He cried out. “Take this cup from me…”, nevertheless He gave it over to God. “Not my will but Yours!” (Matt. 26:34-42). Being fully human in fear and doubt, Jesus asked God the Father for help even in the garden.
Jesus did it with the help of God, so can you. Ask Him (John 14:14). Which part of the Word do you not believe? (II Tim 3:16) Deny yourself and take up your cross and follow in His steps. As He gave His life for us shouldn’t we give ours for one another? (1 John 3:16) And so, “This is the work of God, that you might believe in Him whom He sent (John 6:29).” And come together so that the world will know and believe… (John 17:20-21).

August 21, 2022
A minister and a lawyer at the pearly gates. A minister and a lawyer arrived at the pearly gates. Saint Peter greeted both of them and gave them their
room assignments.
"Pastor, here are the keys to one of our nicest efficiency units. And for you, sir, (to the lawyer) the keys to our finest penthouse suite."
"This is unfair!" cried the minister. "Listen," Saint Peter said, "ministers are a dime a dozen up here, but this is the first lawyer we've seen."
