“Where in the Bible does it say I have to go to church? Why should I go to church? There’s nothing to do, it’s boring. I’m gonna miss the football game.” As he’s kicking and screaming, with neighbors watching, one might find himself dragging this kid to the car and trying to stuff him in, while yelling, “Get in the car so we can go to church and learn about the love of Jesus!” Back when I had teenagers in my house this was considered the norm on most Sunday mornings. “Chaos on any given Sunday”, LOL.

Why go to church? Does it say in the Bible that we “must” go to church? Well, in the Hebrew letter, in the Bible, there is a statement to that affect. If we look close enough we may even find a good reason to gather together and find fellowship. “Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

What do you think? Why go to church? Why are you here? Maybe you are here for the food? How about the music? What is the importance of ecclesia? Why is the word ‘Day’ capitalized in the text of that verse? Hmmm?! Jeremy Camp wrote a song…

So many questions

The world is reaching

So many hurting so many lost

With all this striving

Who can we lean on

Creation's crying out from the dark

I know the answer to every question

The one solution to every fear

I know my help and where it comes from

Jesus He is the answer

I believe Jeremy Camp may have an answer and he may have found it in the Bible, in “CHURCH”. What do you think? You decide. Pastor Jim Powell
