Our church body met and approved the budget for 2021 of $116,793.00. Unlike a business, our church budgets money that we don't have. We proceed from previous experience, and we trust the Lord to supply our needs through the faithful generosity of His people.
Thank you. We're open to answering any questions that you may have about this year's budget.
Thanks to Kat Tapscott, who's adding the Scriptures that you chose to go on our walls.
Thanks to Loretta Stumbaugh for managing our Prayer Chain, and for your prayers. When Loretta texts out requests, you don't need to answer... just pray right then.
(please note that when you answer the text, it goes out to the whole chain, and it's becoming an interruptive burden to members who are working.)
NHCF supports nine missions: The Thomases at JARRS; the Risley Family Ministries in Mexico; Navajo Christian Foundation at Dilkon on the reservation; AICM (American Indian Christian Mission) in Linden; Living Hope Women's Centers in Show Low; the Christian Community Outreach in Show Low; the Coalition Against Homelessness in Show Low, and the Salvation Army.
Jesus said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you" (John 15.7). This sounds like the ultimate giveaway. "Whatever?" That's almost too good to be true, yet, in our enthusiasm for the gift, we miss the abiding.
If Jesus' words abide in us, then all else is available. He told us that "a branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine" (15.4). That's the point. In Christ...all things are possible (Phil.4.13). He's the source; He's the power of our living. Given today's world of unexpected surprises and unwanted outcomes, we need to all the more "abide in Christ."
How does this happen? Well, let's start by reading His Word. "Thy Word I have hidden in my heart that I may not sin against Thee" (Ps.119.11). It continues in prayer, even "praying without ceasing," and it adds life and liberty to us when we "walk by faith" (1 Thess.5.17; 2 Cor.5.7).
"No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Cor. 10.13). Do things look bleak to you? Then it's time for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit, who has been promised to us who believe and ask (Luke 11.13). He is our advocate, our counselor, our helper. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly and be spiritually energized. "Thy Word is truth"...and power...and the life. - Pastor Tom
