Range Practice, Tuesday afternoon, July 26th at Second Mesa, 4-6 PM
We have finished the new parking lot fill and surface. Some additional prep work is taking place before we can park there. We are now getting architectural plans for the addition on the South end of our building. When these are completed we will have a church meeting to discuss and consider the proposal. Keep praying.
The local chapter of AA is now meeting in our church on Fridays, at 6:00 pm. If you know of anyone who might be interested please have them
contact Chuck at 928-940-3622.
The annual Tent Revival meeting will be held in Vernon at the JESUS sign on State Highway 60 this comingAugust 21 - 28. It is a cooperative effort of several local churches.
We've been asked how one becomes a member of NHCF. There's one basic requirement: that you've received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
Jesus said, "...You must be born again" (John 3.7). The new birth is from above, and it is a spiritual recreation. "Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come" (2 Cor.5.17). Being "born again" and being a regular attender at NHCF makes you a member of this body.
It should be clear as glass, knowing good from evil, but unfortunately in this present time there's a broad spectrum of opinion about what's good and evil.
It's most notable in the political arena, and we don't need to go hashing over the crazy stuff that's ripping away at the moral fiber of our nation. What can be said, however, is that believers know what's good, but we're frustrated about what to do.
Our immediate thoughts are to 1) mount up a movement of protest; 2) have a revolution (that would make the communists happy); 3) vote out the bad and vote in the good, and 4) enlist the prayers of the saints for the good. I like this last option.
Have you prayed about it? Really. It's been said that "Evil will prevail when good men do nothing." But, in the "doing part," the Bible says, "Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good" (Rom.12.21). What does this "overcoming" look like?
Back to basics: "They overcame him (the devil/evil) because of the blood of the lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even to death" (Rev.12.11). Yes, it's hard to grasp, but Jesus Christ has already overcome evil. Our "doing" begins with taking Jesus internally and trusting in His finished work at the Cross.
The devil deceives us into thinking that our nation is lost, that we're evil. Wait a minute. How many "evil people" do you know? Just about everybody I know, church related or not , knows what’s good and is trying to uphold that standard.
Chicken Little was in a panic because he thought that the sky was falling when all along it was the fox tricking him and causing him to shake up the flock so that the fox could grab an easy meal. "Resist the devil (and his evil dealings) firm in your faith," and he will flee from you (1 Pt. 5.9).

We will conduct our summer fire drill next Sunday, July 31, during the morning worship during the morning worship service. Please know that the alarm is noisy and the lights flash. If you are uncomfortable with this exercise and the physical effort to exit our building, we understand. We do this for our congregational training and safety.
Thanks
