The Building Fund

The new church addition is going up. PTL! And, as it goes up so do the costs of construction. You may have noticed the "Giving Thermometer" in our entryway. Thanks so much for all that you've given to this point. We as a church are grateful. Now, each of us need to prayerfully consider raising the thermometer with our contributions. God Bless.

Adding the Word to Our Addition

Our church body is invited to go out into the new addition through the kitchen door and take up a marker and write a Scripture on the inside wall. Your choice…

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable to teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness"

(12 Tim.3.16).

Truth Rally

"The Truth Rally” will be held at the Jesus sign from July 9-16. During the July 4th parades to be held in Show Low and Springerville, the Truth Rally is inviting church members to either drive with or walk with them. If you are interested in walking/driving in either location, please contact Dana Crow Smith at (480)273-0204, or danacrowsmith@aol.com to let her know. Thank you for your sup-port of this revival!"

The New Cross

God has proved us with a new cross on our chapel
chancellery wall. The light and color remind us that God is light, and that He is the Promise Keeper, May God's grace and His favor abide in our church and on

Being A Father

I'm the father of four adult children. It hasn't always been easy, but then again, all considered, the benefits far out-weigh the deficits.

It's of note that my children are all different. "One size did not fit all," so to speak, but that was the hard part for me. I wanted it simple. We had rules; we had family habits and practices, and I didn't have time for any freelancing.

Thinking back to those child-rearing days, I can see now where I could have been more generous is tolerating some of their "freelancing." Yet, being the "responsible party," I took the old school approach: "Do what I say and don't ask questions."

I guess it's the same in a sense with our Christian lives. We've got the rule book, the Bible, and we know what it says. Just do it. Don't ask questions. Well, then you've got the "glorious exceptions." We can give a dozen examples when doing the biblical thing may not accomplish a biblical goal, like when telling the truth could jeopardize an innocent person's life.

We must remember that Jesus, who is the truth, taught the God ordained ideals. We wouldn't expect anything less, but as the actors, we often need to modify our parts in the reality of life. Don't misunderstand; we're not talking "situational ethics here," nor, "expediency," but rather, we're talking love.

Because I loved my children, I disciplined them according to the rules. That was my moral obligation according to the Word (Heb.12.7-9; Rev. 3.19). Yet, because God in Christ has forgiven me of my sins, I can afford to be more tolerant and understanding.
