Growth Progress

Things are moving along. PTL! The new parking lot has been staked for grade, and we are receiving two bids for its completion. We have evaluated removing approximately 240 yards of fill from the south end of our building for transfer to the new parking lot. This will also open the area for the new addition. Concurrently, we have an architect who will do our addition plans at a reasonable price. Keep praying.

We believe God for answering our prayers and sending us rain.

Movie Night Schedule

Come to NHCF "Movie Night." It's a time for some clean entertainment and good fellowship. Invite someone to join you: June 24th, "Courageous"; July 8th, "Decoration Day", and July 22nd, “God's Not Dead."

Father's Day Remembrance

Thanks dads! We have a tomato plant gift for you today in the church commons. Plant it and watch it grow as it reminds you of God's work in your life to bring you to produce the spiritual fruit of "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control" (Gal.5.22,23).

The Family

There's good agreement across the spectrum of opinion and research that the family is still the fundamental unit of human culture. Strong, healthy families mean a strong and healthy culture. Fragmented and unhealthy families are the bellwether of cultural death.

So, we can all agree about the family's importance, but when it comes to protecting and nurturing our families, we are amiss. Recent developments in our nation show us that: 1) Parents have little say anymore in the education of their children; 2) Mom's and Dad's are archaic terms that need to be replace with gender neutrality; 3) Family life needs replacing with community life, where "It takes a Village," to raise a child (Hillary Clinton).

Of course, to us as New Testament Christians these current trends in our culture are nonsense. We care for what God says first. God says, "Honor your father and your mother..." (Ex.20.12a). This is "the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth"

(Ex.20.12b; Ephes.6.2,3). There's no question that God created man and woman to come together and be fruitful and multiply (Gen.1.28). God ordained the family that "you shall teach (God's Words) diligently to your sons and talk of them when you sit in your house" (Deut.6.7).

Jesus said, "Whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believes in Me to stumble, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depths of the sea" (Matt.18.6,7).

Yes, the family, Moms and Dads, our children are very important and should be protected at all costs.
