Our church shed has arrived and has been set in place. We plan on
moving the storage of seasonal things, music equipment and sundry other
stuff into the shed. Those who've signed up to help with this move please
coordinate with Margaret Brown and Kathy Copeland.
A "Preparedness Handbook" is available at the back of
our chapel for those who are interested. Given the current
events that are troubling our nation, we recommend that
each of us do some storage of food and necessities.
Preparing for emergencies is a good idea generally, and in
light of long term shortages, we're wise to stock up now.
This coming Sunday, June 27th at 2:00 pm, we will have an ordination service for Pastor Jim Powell. Jim was saved in our church, baptized in our church and called to ministry in our church. He has diligently served our congregation for eighteen years, practicing the functions of ministry to evangelize, baptize, marry and bury God's people. He continues to be our worship leader and a NHCF elder.
All you fathers please pick-up a tomato plant on your way out of church today. Let it remind you that as a father you keep growing and producing fruit. Plant it, water it, and pray over it. Enjoy the harvest
If you haven't noticed...we're growing. This means that we need a vision for the future. We've already expanded our parking lot, and we're in the process of modifying our building space as the need arises. Plans tentatively exist for a new chapel, and we could be going to two worship services in the near future. All of these things weigh upon our leadership because we don't want to miss God. Please pray with us.
Okay, it's "Father's Day," but most of us "dads" would just as soon not make a big deal out of it. It's a man thing. We work; we support our families, and we do our duty with grit and determination, but please don't do a Hallmark special on it.
Sure. We like to have a "that-a-boy" every now and then, just like our wives need affirmation, but the greater reward is to see our children and our grandchildren succeed and prosper (Prov.23.24).
My boys call me "Pop." It's a safe way of recognizing me without becoming too sentimental. But, they don't have any problem in giving me a hug, nor I them. Yet, it's my role to communicate strength to them and stalwart dependability (Prov. 1.8;
Ephes. 6.4). Both of which are missing from the lives of many boys and girls in our nation now who don't have a dad in the home.
Of course, we know from the Bible that we're to love our wives and children, and we're to set good examples for them without a whole lot of whining and complaining (Prov.22.6; 23.22; Ephes.5.28,33). Yes, we know that, but sometimes the burden overwhelms us,
and we bug out for a moment.
Therefore, in all these things, "Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old" (Prov. 23.22).

And the Scripture is "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord"
