Preparedness Handbook

A "Preparedness Handbook" is available at the back of our chapel for those who are interested. Given the current events that are troubling our nation, we recommend that each of us do some storage of food and necessities. Preparing for emergencies is a good idea generally, and in light of long term shortages, we're wise to stock up now.

Praying About NHCF Growth

If you haven't noticed...we're growing . This means that we need a vision for the future. We've already expanded our parking lot, and we're in the process of modifying our building space as the need arises. Plans tentatively exist for a new chapel, and we could be going to two worship services in the near future. All of these things weigh upon our leadership because we don't want to miss God. Please pray with us.

Lest We Forget

It is Memorial Day weekend, and lest we forget those who’ve given their lives that we might be free, let’s do some remembering. Unfortunately, war is a reality that we would all like to go away. But, however, you reason it, mankind is prone to war. It takes two or more, who oppose each other to have a war. The reasons for fighting vary, but generally they involve territory, economics, prejudices and ideologies.

There are casualties in war, and each side, right or wrong, mourn their casualties. The irony of war is displayed in our American Civil War where many of the combatants knew each other or were related. It was often called “The Brothers War”. There were 600,000 casualties.

The objective of war is peace. Both sides want to be left alone, unbothered, and able to prosper and live out their lives naturally. Why can’t this objective be observed and practiced without war? Because men do not naturally get along. Cain and Abel live in us

Jesus is called “The Prince of Peace” (Isa.9.6c). Yet, Jesus says, “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword…” (Matt.10.34). How so? The gospel opposes the will of men, and like a sword, divides good from evil.

Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you ; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you” (John 14.27). Peace is not the cessation of conflict; it is the resolution of sin.

Lest we forget, what we are really fighting for is God’s righteousness

“Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again”
