STAFF MEETING, TOMORROW @ Pastor Tom’s at 4:30
Thanks to all who participated in The National Day of Prayer last Thursday, whether at church or at home. We had a good session at our church. God's people prayed silently, some out loud, and others read Scripture. Keep praying for our nation.

The new church addition is going up. PTL! And, as it goes up so do the costs of construction. You may have noticed the "Giving Thermometer" in our entryway. Thanks so much for all that you've given to this point. We as a church are grateful. Now, each of us need to prayerfully consider raising the thermometer with our contributions. God bless.
We practice open communion at NHCF. This means that any born-again, Christ-revering believer is welcome to join us at the Lord's table. If you're not sure, then it's between you and the Lord. God bless you.
Baptism
Today we are privileged to baptize Fred Nippins according to the Lord's Command. Baptism is several things: It is obedience to Jesus; it is an initiation into the body of Christ; it is a symbolic act which highlights the gospel. It does not make one more holy; however, it brings one closer to the Lord and gives direction to one's spiritual development.
National Prayer
Thursday was the National Day of Prayer, and as far as I know, local churches went at it alone, or not at all. Over in Round Valley, the churches came together and had a large, ecumenical prayer meeting. So, what's with us here in the White Mountains? We used to heartly observe this day as our churches came together and prayed. Personally, I think we're being demonized into a state of apathetic disinterest.
Jonathan Cahn (The Return of the Gods) as much says the same thing. He believes that our nation is being demonized by the return of the "dark trinity": "the possessor," who turns us away from God; "the enchantress," who sexualizes us into deviant and immoral behavior, and "the destroyer," who causes us to sacrifice our children in abortions and trafficking.
So, we seem to have an Alfred E. Newman attitude about it of "What me worry?"
We need to pray God's cure for this menacing problem, least we lose our religious liberty and follow most of Europe into a Christless socialism.
What can we do? Well, most obviously, we need to pray, and we can see clearly that the evil one is trying to stop that. Then we need to read the Word and commit it to heart, and further, we need to strengthen our ties to other Christ believers locally, nationally and around the world.
We either hang together, or we'll hang separately; ask those who went through the Holocaust and are now in heaven.
Paul writes to the Ephesians: "I bow my knees (in prayer)...that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power...to comprehend...the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge...filled up to all the fulness of God" (Ephes.3.14-19).
