Thank you for your generosity for the Fast of Compassion held during Thanksgiving week. In this effort, we, the cities of the White Mountains, together, raised over $44,000.00 for helping to support the needs in our community. Praise be to God!

"FOOD FOR THOUGHT"

In my studies there is an exercise called Lectio-Devina. This is a form of meditation. We had to read a passage of the Bible, pray and meditate on it and then without hesitation write the things that come to mind. I thought of sharing my assignment, lectio-divina on Psalm 2… Hmmm, what do you think?

As I sit in prayer and silence meditating on God’s word in Psalm 2, this question is at the forefront of my mind, “Where will you be found when the four-horseman of the apocalypse comes?” I see images flashing before my mind of a nation overrun by evil, oppressing the people to gain the upper hand and to destroy the mindful things of Christ. People defying the very fabric of that which holds us together, the Law of God. Leaders appoint themselves as kings and rulers. I see the destruction from the inside out while others stand idly by, “Like a fat cat laying on the porch watching the raccoons steal its food (Pastor Tom Brown).” We, like sheep, have gone astray without a shepherd, “The Shepherd”, who has been anointed King. This reminds me of how man has, from the beginning, tried to take the throne as their own. Why do men place themselves on the throne of God?

I see men like Nimrod, who made himself to be king over all the earth. He oppressed the people and forced them to build a tower up to the heavens (Genesis 11). Man has taken counsel with the ruler of this world who has “fallen from heaven” (Isaiah 14:1). He’s given in the heart of man the notion to be like the Most High God. “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:14). God has brought him down at the Tower of Babel as He has all others who have come against Him, like “Satan falling” (Luke 10:18). We have come against the Lord and His anointed even until now, today. Since the fall, we have been trying to get back to where we’ve fallen from. We cannot do this on our own. God has already anointed His King in Jesus over the holy city of Zion, over all creation. God has declared His only begotten Son as heir to the throne.

Again, I ask, “Where will you be found when the four-horseman of the apocalypse comes?” Will you be found in the counsel of the wicked one, plotting to dethrone our God of all creation? Will you be found hiding in the garden? Or perhaps in the caves and crags in the rocks praying they fall upon your head? (Rev. 6:16)

Be wise O kings (o peoples), be instructed and separate yourselves from the schemes of the evil one. God’s wrath is eminent. Put your trust in Him and you will see the one true King, Jesus, and we “shall be His people and He our God” (Rev. 21:3). Trust and obey.
