We need workers to help finish the new church shed. We need drywall finishers, electrical assistance in connecting power, and roofers to lay in the metal roof. Please check with Rick Koberna if you can help.
If you would like to be in the 2022-2023 church directory, please send your info (if we already have yours), please send your info to Candy Greenwood @: candyland52461@yahoo.com
We're practicing after church every Sunday before December 18th. Parts are still available. See Kate Hilton.
TODAY, November 27th, we'll have our regular, after Thanksgiving "soup and bread potluck" in grateful remembrance of the abundance we've enjoyed. We'll also have a reception for Billy and Terri Gibson who got married on Thanksgiving Day!
"T'is is the season to be jolly...Fa-dala-fa-dala...la,la,la," or something like that. We used to sing this with feeling and sincerity, but not so much anymore. Our culture has become bellicose and fatalistic. We've lost touch with our blessings, and now, we concentrate on all that's wrong, not what's right. We are anxious about everything.
This is the devil's work. For he is a liar, a murderer and a deceiver (John 10.10).
I suppose this element has always been present to some degree, but it's especially prominent now, and more so when poor, degenerate, and influenced people go around shooting others.
So, what do we do? Well, "a small amount of leaven rises the whole lump." In other words, your persevering and temperate spirit is working a good result in the midst of calamity. While others are going nuts, you are being light (Matt.5.14-16). You are living in Christ, so those around you can see "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Col. 1.27).
Little wonder that Jesus told us, "Do not be anxious then, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves?' For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things" (Matt.6.31-32).
And again, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Phil.4.6).
Rejoice, Christian in this most glorious season! For God so loved the world that He came personally to bear the burden of our sin and to liberate us from our carnality.
Hey, it's God who's in control, not us. In this season of Christmas, we need to start trusting Him again. We need to remember that God came to us; He sought us out; He called to us, and He promised us eternal life with Him in glory. Fa-dala-fa-dala...la-la-la
