Church Board Meeting, this TUESDAY, 3:30 @ the church
Our annual Green's Peak camp and barbecue will be held next Sunday, October 9th, right after church at 3:00 pm. No telling what the weather will be, but in previous years, it's been beautiful. Dress warm. Bring your own meat to barbecue and a dish to share. Directions: Take highway 260 through McNary, through the reservation, past the Sunrise turnoff, past the Forest Service restroom stop, to FS road 117, where our church sign will be; turn left go down that road 2 -3 miles; to our sign and camp.
Yes, our church is growing, and your church leadership is prayerfully trying to stay ahead of the curve. We added the new parking lot, and we’ve added a new shed room for the youth. We will move the nursery to the existing shed and open that room into the chapel and the commons for additional seating and the commons area for more seating. Please bear with us, and pray for us as we make these transitions. Also, pray that Nav. Co and Timber Mesa Fire will approve our addition plans for the end of our building.
Yes, we have a building fund. You can give to it by designating your gift to the "building fund." We've been paying for the current construction out of this fund. Heavy expenses are coming as we begin construction of the addition.
Your prayers, and your gifts are much appreciated. Thanks.
The WMCAH (White Mountain Coalition Against Homelessness) has been struggling to get the project moving through regulations and hold-ups. Now, things are moving again, and building permits will soon be issued. PTL! Your prayers are needed. The Salvation Army and the CCO have people coming to us weekly, who are homeless.
Be praying for the November elections that God will and presence will be known.
Our church was inspired at the beginning by Pastor Ray Stedman's book: Body Life. It's his interpretation of the book of Ephesians with his clear vision for the life of the church.
We are "the body of Christ," and as such, we need to be under Jesus' headship. Nevertheless, the American church has always drifted towards a man-centered view of the church. This brings about all of the common problems that people experience when they take control.
Perhaps, you may feel that the ideal, Christ-modeled church, is impossible as long people are in charge. Well, maybe. I suppose it depends on just how serious we are about "walking in the Spirit" (Gal.5.16).
Think of your own family (if you are blessed to have one). How well do you get along, and how well do you all practice Christian virtues, like forgiveness? Being humans, it's probably hit or miss. That's because human nature is directed to the self. Like it or not, it's me first that you.
Well, in "Body Life" everyone has a part and a say. That does not mean that the body has numerous "heads," who call the shots. Dad's are still dads in families, and pastors are still pastors, but because "the love of Christ constrains us," we work together for the common good (2 Cor.5.14).
So, we are the church; we are "the body of Christ," and our lives are inextricably connected. Take care, Christian, that you care for one another.

What kind of motor vehicles are in the Bible? A. Jehovah drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden in a Fury.
David's Triumph was heard throughout the land.
Also, probably a Honda, because the apostles were all in one Accord.
