Remember to Prep

Biblical wisdom not only means to prepare for the Lord's return, but it also means to store up supplies to occupy until He comes. Please consider storing up some basics, like water, pa-per goods, canned goods, some dry goods, fuel and medications. The times we're in demand it.

The Community Fast of Compassion

Prepare now in mind and heart to participate in "The Community Fast of Compassion," November 7-13. Fasting has always been part of the Christian life style. We fast to clear our lives of fleshly wants and desires; we fast to better focus on spiritual things; we fast to draw closer to God. Everyone can fast; it's not limited to church people. It's a com-munity effort to take the money saved on meals and raise funds for those in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Christmas Choir and Program

Kate Hilton and Janet Gallup are inviting you to come and sing in a Christmas Choir and participate in the program. They ‘ll be rehearsing after church today.

SALVATION ARMY Needs Volunteers

Please consider lending your help to the Salvation Army. They need “Advisory Board” members, who meet once a month and guide the Army’s community work and fund raising events. Also, needed are site workers, who organize and manage food and clothing resources. Thank you.

The Shaking

We’ve heard a sermon of late about God's shaking

("An Unshakeable Faith," 10/10/21). In that message I pointed out from Hebrews that God shakes things up "...removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, in order that those things which cannot be shaken may

remain" (Heb.12.27).

Along with this, we need to "wake up, and strengthen the things that remain..." (Rev. 3.2). Strengthening, the things that "cannot be shaken" is our Christian duty, like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, good-ness, faithfulness …etc." (Gal.5.22).

Our problem is that we perceive 'the shaking" that we're experiencing now in our nation as a bad thing. It causes us alarm and may even depress us. We fail to focus on what remains.

Could it be that all these crazy things that are happening right now are God's way of waking us up? Could it be that the rising revival that we're seeing in our nation is the result of people looking again for the good that remains. Could it be that God's got our attention?

I think so. The program is the same: "Turn to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other" (Isa.45.22).
