We have a safety team in place during times of worship and other church events. Please be assured that any emergency situation will be addressed, and you need not personally respond. Thanks.
It's that time of year again when our Church Board plans a budget for the next year. Your input is welcome. Line items in our budget are increasing with a growing congregation and that means increasing the projected bottom line. Be praying for Board wisdom as we consider church outlays for 2023.
Yes, we have a building fund. You can give to it by designating your gift to the "building fund." We've been paying for the current construction out of this fund. Heavy expenses are coming as we begin construction of the addition. Your prayers, and your gifts are much appreciated. Thanks.
Trusting God is an art form. Meaning? In order to trust God, we have to set aside the things happening to us and around us, and instead, we need to believe that He cares for us and will provide for us. So, we are really painting a picture of His goodness, filled with hope and well-being.
Is that impossible when the anxieties of life are bearing down on us?
Peter writes: "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you" (1 Pt.5.6-7). Yes, He does care, and our believing that is part of our "spiritual service of worship" (Rom.12.1).
In another place, Paul writes: "Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near" (Phil.4.5). How near? Well, right by your side. That's what the NT word for the Holy Spirit ``paraclete" means..."to come alongside." God's there. Claim His presence and rejoice in the midst of travail.
Remember, "God dwells in the praises of His people." Rather than say, "Woe is me," humble yourself and say, "Thank you God for caring for me in this time of trial."
Yes, trusting God is an art form because it requires the creative investment of the believer to paint a faithful picture. And, when we look at that picture, what we see is the majesty of God's loving care.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Prov.3.5,6).
