Thanks church for affirming our church addition plans. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated. Much thanks to those wo have been helping with the construction.
Yes, our church is growing, and your church leadership is prayerfully trying to stay ahead of the curve. We added the new parking lot, and we’ve added a new shed room for the youth. We will move the nursery space and the commons area for more seating. Please bear with us, and pray for us as we make these transitions. Also, pray that NavCo and Timber Mesa Fire will approve our addition plans for the end of our building.
You can sign up to help with the NHCF Ministry on several clipboards: Greeters, Refreshments, Bible Studies, etc..
You will find these clipboards on table in the entry way.
Remember that our church lends support to nine missions:
AICM, Navajo Christian Foundation, Living Hope Women's Centers, All Nations Prayer House, Risley Family Ministry in Mexico, The Christian Community Out-reach, Salvation Army, Jon & Tina at Wycliffe, and the White Mountain Coalition Against Homelessness.
Information about these missions is available on the table in the entry way.
Terrorism is nothing new. There's always been a demonic element in human society that seeks to rule by fear of punishment.
Classic terrorists include: Jewish Sicarii Zealots, who hammered the Romans; Genghis Khan, a vicious Asian tyrant who killed thousands; Saddam Hussein, Iraqi ruler who terrorized and slaughter his own people; Joseph Stalin, Russian dictator who also slaughtered millions of his own people; Adolf Hitler, the well known Nazi terrorist, Mao ze tong, Chinese dictator and calculating murderer and, of course, Osama Bin Laden, the perpetrator of 9-11.
But terrorism is not limited to the big names; terrorism also resides throughout human culture in various less visible forms. There's the father who abuses his family, and the teacher who ridicules her students if they aren't woke, and the boss who threatens his employees, or the political activists who deform our culture with goofy mandates.
Jesus had something to say about terrorism: "For all who take up the sword will perish by the sword" (Matt.26.52). Likewise, "Do not resist him who is evil"..."but...love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you" (Matt.5.39,44). Yes, I know, these are hard sayings because they demand that we behave according to God's rule and not our own.
You see, terrorism is man acting out his own selfish ways without consideration for others, and in that context, some of us can be "terrorists." Oh dear. There's no "golden rule" in terrorism, there is only self-rule (Matt.7.12).
We can avoid terrorism and being terrorists ourselves by "fixing our eyes on Jesus" (Heb. 12.2). We're not promised a free ride on this planet if we do things Jesus' way, and "the terrorists" may get to us, but all of us will eventually die and face the judgment (Heb.9.27). Terrorists will not fair well at the end.
"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift"..."that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us"...that "whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" (2 Cor.9.15; Rom.5.8,John 3.16).
