9-11

Friday was 9 11, the nineteenth anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in New York City, and the strong reminder that America is in the crosshairs of an angry and revengeful world. Certainly we've experienced this again in the great damage and distress caused by the China virus.

When we consider the 3,000 + American lives lost at 9 11, and the 192K lives lost in our country due to the virus, it's easy to fall into the trap of the spirit of revenge. But, God says, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay" (Deut.32.35; Rom.12.19; Heb.10.30). Clearly, "In due time their foot will slip; for the day of their calamity is near...for the LORD will vindicate His people" (Deut.32.35 36).

Likewise, we remember that, "If your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head" (Rom.12.20). We're being taught that to do acts of kindness, even to an enemy, will cause him (them) to suffer a burning conscience. It's not our objective to in any way hurt our enemies but rather to redeem him.

An angry and resentful world needs redemption. The way to that redemption is through Jesus Christ our Lord. Yet, in knowing this, we also know that Jesus said, "Repent and believe the gospel" (Mark.1.15).

Transitional Housing

WMCAH did not qualify for funding from the state "homeless housing grant." The reason given was that our program does not admit practicing alcoholics and drug addicts. Nevertheless, there's still a real possibility of receiving significant support from the City of Show Low. Pray.

Joint Meeting of Shepherding Groups

On Wednesday, September 23rd, at 5:30 pm, all our Shepherding Groups will meet together at our church. These combination meetings give us a chance to strengthen our groups in our common fellowship, pray together, and share in God's word. You're welcome to join us, even if you do not attend a group.

24/7 Prayer

We've been invited by Cindy Woods to join with other Christians on the mountain to set up a prayer vigil 24/7 through the election in November. She has a signup sheet, and you can contact her at

480-204-2796. This is a personal commitment to pray for our nation and to petition God to heal our land.

➢ We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

➢ We believe in the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit

➢ We believe in the Church, Christ’s living body.
