We need some volunteers to run the “Planning Center” which is an online method of relating messages to our church family.
We are also seeking someone to coordinate the Sunday Morning Refreshments; and this so that there will always be someone to bring food to our congregational family room tables. Please see Pastor Jim or Cyndi DiMauro if you can participate in these areas.
Feel free to stop by and check it out!

Jesus taught us not to be anxious, nor to fear (Matt. 6.25; 10.26; Mk. 6.50c). Our Lord knows how we are, and He kindly instructed us to turn away from such faith-defeating things as anxiety and fear.
As always, the question becomes "How?" Besides, fear, as an example, can serve a survival value, like the several times I've met a bear in the woods.
Jesus was thinking more about fearing people, like enemies, and those that can cause us pain, like persecutors, or the devil himself.
I guess that one of our greatest fears, and one that can cause us a lot of anxiety, is death. It's really a problem as we read in Hebrews: "(That Jesus) might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives" (Heb.2.15). We don't want to be enslaved to a fear of death.
But, there's good news because Jesus said, "I will never leave you, nor will I forsake you," which is followed by "the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid" (Heb.13.5-6).
King David wrote, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for Thou art with me" (Ps.23.4).
Paul writes: "Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?" His answer is the "how"; "thanks be to God through Jesus Christ
our Lord" (Rom.7.24-25)!
The "how" always comes back to faith. Where's your faith? Jesus scolded His disciples, saying, " O you of little faith, why did you doubt" (Matt.14.31b). You see, "faith is the victory...that overcomes the world"...this world, with its fears and anxieties (1 Jn.4.4).
Yes, death is an unpleasant and unwelcome reality of this life, and we'd just a soon postpone its presence, but for those of us in Christ, death is just a brief lay-over in a long life of eternity. After all, Jesus promised us a heaven to be gained, where death will no longer exist, nor disease, nor sadness nor anxiety.
Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful" (John 14.27).
In the midst of anxiety and fear, "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift" (2 Cor.9.15)!
